Dressing for Children's Events

Christenings, Communions and birthday parties... It's all happening this summer! We've put together five simple suggestions to help you prepare for children's events

1. Dress Up!

It's an occasion, and no doubt a very special family occasion. It's absolutely appropriate to dress up and feel good in what you're wearing. As most children's events happen during the day, keep hair and make up natural.

2. Dress Down!

Whether you're entertaining at home or dining out, think about having a flat pair of shoes at the ready. This is a must if you are organising food or running around after little ones. Thankfully trainers are a great look with dresses and skirts, so you can kick off the heels and get moving!

3. Plan the Day

To ensure you are able to enjoy your time with family and friends, plan the day. What will happen and when? Keep an eye on the weather forecast in the lead up to your event. The bouncy castle might be a no-go and you may need to have a plan B.

4. Prepare Food in Advance

If you're entertaining at home, try to prepare as much as you can the day before. There are so many great dishes which can sit in the fridge over night. This will take the pressure off and allow you to enjoy yourself.

5. Remember the Kids

Remember, it's a kids party! Keep the atmosphere light and jovial. Children don't sweat the little things and nor should you. Keep the focus on the children having a ball and all the adults will too!
